Welcome to Agritourism New Zealand!

Marijke Dunselman, Agritourism NZMarijke Dunselman, founder Agritourism NZ
Agritourism NZ is dedicated to enhancing awareness of the potential of agritourism. Our goal is to promote the expansion of farm income, foster resilience, and cultivate sustainable agritourism enterprises and rural communities.

We achieve this through a comprehensive approach that includes training programmes, networking and marketing initiatives, advocacy and research.

Agritourism constitutes a burgeoning global industry, converging agriculture and tourism into a harmonious blend. It encompasses a rich variety of experiences that afford visitors the opportunity to engage directly with primary producers.

For farmers, agritourism serves as a gateway to diversify their income streams, establish sustainable businesses, bolster cash flow, and enhance overall resilience.
Visitors seek profound connections with the land, its people, animals, and a deeper understanding of the origins of their food.

Moreover, agritourism plays a pivotal role in nurturing rural communities by injecting increased investments and generating employment opportunities.

What is agritourism?

It's where agriculture and tourism meet; a diverse range of experiences that provide opportunities for visitors to connect with the land, the people, the animals and the provenance of our food.
For farmers, it's a way to diversify their farm income and increase cash flow.
