Welcome to the Canterbury / Marlborough Regional Agritourism Network. Connect with agritourism operators across Canterbury and Marlborough, and nationally.
The Canterbury / Marlborough network connects farmers, growers and rural tourism operators from across the upper and central South Island. Members can meet on-farm, learn from established businesses and collaborate on opportunities to grow agritourism in the region.
About this regional network
The network was launched in March 2026 and welcomes both existing agritourism businesses and people who are exploring a new rural visitor experience. Its activities focus on practical learning, site visits, local connections and sharing experience between operators.

The launch of the second Agritourism NZ Regional Network was held on a hot (30-degree) day at Midhurst Farm in West Eyreton near Christchurch. A group of 34, made up of mainly agritourism operators and also economic development agencies and supporting services enjoyed getting to know each other, listening to Shaun Monk's story (the Regional Leader for this region) and enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by Jane Gilchrist from Midhurst Farm. Marijke spoke about how the Regional Networks came about and what it entails. Agritourism NZ Advisory Board Members, Martin Hawes and Kirstie McMillan, who both live in Canterbury, were there too. Exciting times ahead for this great group!
